New Share Everything Plans

Customers have been asking for family data plans for their smartphones, and Verizon Wireless has answered. The new Share Everything Plans put all of your devices in one easy package. Have all of your smartphones, basic phones, internet cards, and tablets in one bundle. All packages include unlimited minutes and texting. The only thing you have to choose is how much data your lines would like to share.

There are plans available for customers with basic phones only who don’t want any internet packages. For people who have data devices, you can choose whether you want to share 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 GB between all of your lines. With these plans, Mobile Hotspot is now free to use on any capable devices. Share your data allowance with anything that is wi-fi capable, such as laptops or MP3 players.

Verizon is planning on releasing these new plans officially on June 28th. Ask a sales rep at your nearest Express Verizon location in Ellington, Enfield, Vernon, or Stafford CT, how these plans would work for you.

The News on Nexus

Recently, a new device has joined the Android lineup at Verizon Wireless. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is on a whole new level and new software version. It is the first device to be launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone itself has some pretty impressive specs, boosting a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor and 4.65″ screen with a High Definition Super AMOLED contoured display. For those who don’t speak tech, it’s super fast and has a screen with clarity that could knock your socks off. Multiple programs will run smoothly simultaneously and all of your pics, videos and games will have crystal clear, vibrant clarity.

Android 4.0 also brings in its own bag of upgrades to make your phone even more responsive and easy to use. Voice search and command is available from any of the home screens and new folder types will pop up also to shorten your access time to the programs you need.

Probably the coolest feature of the 4.0 upgrade is the new unlock option. Instead of fumbling with PINs and passwords you can know scan your face to unlock the device. No longer worry about forgetting the login to get into your device and ensure that no one else can access your most protected information.

Another new feature with the latest software is Android Beam. It is the next level of programs similar to Bump and Bluetooth transfers. Instantly share contacts, webpages, directions, apps and more with one touch. Not only can you show a friend the new program you are using, you can literally send it to them.

To check out the Samsung Galaxy Nexus stop in to any of our four locations in Ellington, Enfield, Stafford, or Vernon Connecticut.

Google Buys Motorola Mobility

It has recently been announced that Google has made moves to purchase Motorola Mobility for the hefty price of $40.00 per share totalling $12.5 billion dollars. The segment of Motorola that is to be acquired by Google is their mobile device division that produces all Motorola brand mobile devices including the Android cell phones, such as the Droid X2.

Motorola Mobility has been a dedicated Android partner and the purchase is believed to “enable Google to supercharge the Android ecosystem” and “enhance competition in mobile computing.” Google has informed the public that they still intend to run Motorola Mobility as a separate company. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2011 or early 2012, as explained in Google’s official press release.

What does this mean for you? Through the combination of these two Android giants we are looking forward to huge leaps of advancement in our Droid products. Joining together can only help in the way that these companies are able to make improvements to our beloved devices. It will be interesting to see how Apple and Microsoft respond to the change. Hopefully, Google is correct in their idea that it will spark more advancements in all segments due to the drive to compete above other operating systems.

My advice to you: be sure to stay in tuned to what will come out next from these two amazing companies. It will be sure to impress.

New Upgrade Policy

So there have been plenty of rumors circulating lately regarding the changes to Verizon Wireless’s upgrade policy. To clear them up I would like to explain what will now be in effect for the Verizon customers.

Every Verizon customer will still have an upgrade 20 months into their contract. You do not have to wait until your contract is fully expired to get a new device.

Previously, primary lines on Family Plans and/or lines billing out at over $59.99 would receive annual upgrades after the first year of their contract. These will no longer be available. The only upgrade option will be at the 20 month point.

These same lines also had the option of waiting until the 20 months into their contract. If they upgraded after that time, they would receive  a New Every Two credit toward their device. The NE2 amounts were either $30 or $50. These credits will no longer be available.

The plan took effect on January 16th. If you had upgraded before this date you will still have your annual upgrade or NE2 available to you. If you had these items available to use on your account and you hadn’t taken advantage of them, please check with one of the stores as to how long you have to use the upgrades, becuase their is a expiration on the offers.

However, our phones are always offered at great pricing and we can try to make a great deal with you for a new device when you are upgrading. Every line on the account will still receive an upgrade, it may just be at a different time than previously used.

If you have any other questions or concerns regarding this policy change, please stop into one of our locations in Enfield, Ellington, Vernon or Stafford Connecticut.

Seems as if we have been getting more than our share of snow lately and it can be difficult getting out and around to get any where. So what do you do when your stuck home with nothing to eat? Call take out. But why not make it even easier?

If you don’t know what places around you will deliver or what their menu options are you can use a new app to help satisfy your appetite. From the app you can even place your entire order, leave any special instructions for the meals and pay.

Currently the app is available in 14 cities:

But more locations are on the way. Stop by one of our stores in Enfield, Ellington, Vernon or Stafford Connecticut for more information. Keep posted to see when this convenient app reaches our area.
